Good packing starts with the right kit. Our packing materials service delivers sturdy boxes, tape, wrapping paper and bubble wrap to your door — so you’re not hunting half-broken cartons the night before the move.
Choose a ready-made kit sized for a studio, one-bed or larger home, or tell us what you need and we’ll put a custom bundle together. Everything is chosen for removals, not supermarket leftovers.
Combine materials with a man & van or full removal and you’ll be ready to pack properly without last-minute shop runs.
What to order: boxes, wrap and the extras people forget
A packing kit is built around three box sizes. Small boxes are for books, files and anything heavy, so no box gets too heavy to lift. Medium boxes take kitchen items, toys and general household goods. Large boxes are for light, bulky things like bedding, cushions and towels. Wardrobe boxes let hanging clothes travel on the hanger.
Then you need tape, a tape dispenser, packing paper for crockery and glass, bubble wrap for electronics and pictures, and a marker for labelling. Mattress bags and sofa covers are worth adding if you’re moving furniture without a full crew.

Buy cardboard boxes or hire reusable crates?
If you’d rather rent moving boxes than buy them, our Moving Crate Hire service delivers reusable plastic crates and collects them after the move. Crates stack well, don’t need tape and suit office moves and short flat moves where you unpack quickly.
Cardboard is better when items will sit in storage, when you need odd sizes like wardrobe or picture boxes, or when you’ll unpack slowly over several weeks. Many people mix both: crates for the kitchen and books, cardboard for storage and wardrobes.
Packing tips that save time on moving day
Pack heavy items in small boxes and light items in large ones, fill gaps so the contents can’t shift, and tape the bottom of each box with two strips across the seam. Write the room and a short description on the side of the box, not just the top — once boxes are stacked, the tops can’t be seen.
Start with rooms you use least, such as spare rooms and lofts, and leave the kitchen and bathroom until last. Keep one box open for the first night: kettle, mugs, chargers, toilet roll, bedding and any medication.
