Is a man with a van in Canterbury cheaper than van hire?

For most small moves it works out similar or cheaper once you count fuel, insurance and your own time — and the driver does the lifting with you.

What size van do you use?

Most bookings use a Luton van, which fits roughly a studio or one-bed flat. Smaller jobs may get a medium van.

Can you do student moves in Canterbury?

Yes — our man and van suits student rooms and shared houses, from £50 an hour with a two-hour minimum for local work.

Moving in Canterbury — local notes

Medieval and Georgian houses inside the city walls, Victorian terraces near the stations, student houses near the universities, and family homes in villages around the city.

The city centre has narrow streets, pedestrian zones and limited loading. Student areas are busy at term start and end, and the A2 is the main route from London.
