Phi Movers’ heavy and machinery moving service plans those lifts properly — the route, the crew, the equipment and the floor at both ends.
We start with photos, the item’s make and model if it has one, and the route from where it stands to where it’s going: stairs, turns, door widths, lifts and floor surfaces. From that we work out how many crew are needed, whether it should be partly dismantled, and what handling equipment the job needs. If we can’t do it safely, we’ll tell you before booking.

Our heavy and machinery moving service covers the items a normal removal crew shouldn’t just pick up: things that are very heavy for their size, awkward to grip, or need dismantling before they’ll fit through a door. We move them for homes, gyms, studios, workshops and small businesses across London.
Every job is assessed first. If an item needs a crane or industrial rigging, that’s outside what we offer — and we’ll tell you so up front rather than on the day.

Moving gym equipment safely
Gym equipment is heavy, top-heavy and often wider than a doorway when assembled. Many treadmills fold, and many multi-gyms and racks can be partly dismantled — removing weight stacks, uprights and cables — so they can travel safely and fit through tight access. We reassemble and position them at the other end.
Send us the make and model: manufacturers usually publish dimensions and weights, which helps us bring the right crew and equipment. Please remove loose plates and dumbbells from racks before we arrive, or let us know so we can pack them separately.
How we plan a heavy or machinery move
Heavy items are moved to a plan, not by guesswork. We look at the full route — floor surfaces, stairs, turns, steps, door widths and lifts — and decide on the crew size, the handling equipment and whether anything should be dismantled. For larger or unusual items we visit before confirming.
On the day we protect floors, walls and doorways, move the item in a controlled way with trolleys, straps and enough people, and secure it in the van so it can’t shift. Each job is risk-assessed and covered by our goods-in-transit and public liability insurance.

Send photos of the item and the route out, plus the make and model if it has one. Manufacturers usually publish the weight and dimensions, which helps us plan accurately. Tell us about stairs, lifts, steps and door widths at both addresses.
Assessment and plan
We work out the safest route, the crew size and the handling equipment needed, and whether the item should be partly dismantled. For larger or unusual items we’ll visit first. You get a clear plan and a fixed quote.
Preparation
Before moving day, make sure the item is disconnected from power, water or gas by a qualified person where needed, safes are emptied, and weight plates are removed from racks. On the day we protect floors, walls and doorways along the route.
The move
The crew dismantles what’s practical, then moves the item with trolleys, straps and enough people to keep every step controlled. It’s secured in the van so it can’t shift in transit.
Positioning
We bring the item in along the planned route, reassemble it where we took it apart and position it where you want it. We’ll ask you to check it over before we leave.

Heavy & Machinery Moving is priced per job: we agree a fixed quote on the call, based on what is moving, access and distance. You know the total before we arrive.
