Is a man with a van in Torquay cheaper than van hire?

For most small moves it works out similar or cheaper once you count fuel, insurance and your own time — and the driver does the lifting with you.

What size van do you use?

Most bookings use a Luton van, which fits roughly a studio or one-bed flat. Smaller jobs may get a medium van.

Can you deal with steep steps at a Torquay property?

Yes, but tell us beforehand. Steep paths and steps mean more crew or more time, and we build that into the fixed price.

Moving in Torquay — local notes

Large Victorian villas, many divided into flats, hillside apartments with sea views, bungalows in St Marychurch, and post-war family homes.

Torquay is very hilly, with steep, narrow roads and lots of steps up to front doors. The harbourside and seafront are busy in summer, so we plan loading carefully.
