Is a man with a van in Nottingham cheaper than van hire?

For most small moves it works out similar or cheaper once you count fuel, insurance and your own time — and the driver does the lifting with you.

What size van do you use?

Most bookings use a Luton van, which fits roughly a studio or one-bed flat. Smaller jobs may get a medium van.

How do I keep a Nottingham man and van move cheap?

Have everything packed and ready before we arrive. Our man and van is from £50 an hour with a two-hour minimum, so less waiting means a lower bill.

Moving in Nottingham — local notes

Victorian terraces in Lenton, Sneinton and Sherwood, Georgian and Victorian houses in the Park estate, city-centre apartments and suburban semis.

Much of the city centre has restricted access and bus lanes, and the tram network adds no-stopping areas. Student areas get very busy at the start and end of term.
