Is a man with a van in Darlington cheaper than van hire?

For most small moves it works out similar or cheaper once you count fuel, insurance and your own time — and the driver does the lifting with you.

What size van do you use?

Most bookings use a Luton van, which fits roughly a studio or one-bed flat. Smaller jobs may get a medium van.

How long does a London to Darlington move take?

It’s a long drive, so most moves load one day and unload the next, or start very early. We agree the plan and a fixed price in advance, by arrangement.

Moving in Darlington — local notes

Victorian terraces close to the town centre, larger Victorian and Edwardian villas in the west end, inter-war semis, and modern estates on the edges of town.

Terraced streets near the centre can be tight for parking, while west-end homes usually have more space. The inner ring road and A66 carry most traffic, with the A1(M) just to the west.
