Is a man with a van in Cheltenham cheaper than van hire?

For most small moves it works out similar or cheaper once you count fuel, insurance and your own time — and the driver does the lifting with you.

What size van do you use?

Most bookings use a Luton van, which fits roughly a studio or one-bed flat. Smaller jobs may get a medium van.

Should we avoid moving during Cheltenham Festival week?

If you can — traffic is very heavy around the racecourse and town. We’ll suggest dates that avoid the worst of it.

Moving in Cheltenham — local notes

Grand Regency terraces and villas in Montpellier and Pittville, many split into flats, Victorian terraces, and newer estates on the edges of town.

Central Cheltenham has permit-controlled parking and narrow streets, so we may need to arrange loading. Race weeks, especially the March Festival, bring heavy traffic, and the M5 at junctions 10 and 11 is the main route.
