London's Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) and Congestion Charge Zone (CCZ) affect almost every commercial vehicle operating in the capital. Understanding how these charges apply to your move prevents surprises on your invoice.
The ULEZ: What Is It?
The ULEZ covers the whole of Greater London (since August 2023) and applies to vehicles that don't meet minimum emission standards. Most vehicles older than 2015 (petrol) or 2016 (diesel) will be charged £12.50 per day. Modern vans (2017+) typically meet ULEZ standards and are exempt.
The Congestion Charge Zone
The CCZ covers central London (roughly the area inside the Inner Ring Road) and costs £15 per day (7am–6pm Monday to Friday, 12pm–6pm Saturday and Sunday). It doesn't apply on bank holidays.

How to Find Out If Your Move Is Affected
Check whether your pickup or delivery address falls inside the CCZ using TfL's postcode checker. If your move is entirely outside the CCZ — which is most London moves — there's no charge. If you're unsure, mention your postcodes when requesting your quote and we'll confirm.
